Polycarbonate

Sometimes glass is not an option when framing an art piece, due the great risk of hurting people or damaging the artwork if the glass breaks. In this case we suggest using Polycarbonate which is a synthetic material that is almost unbreakable and looks similar to float glass.

The thickness we use is 1 or 2mm. The price of Polycarbonate is slightly higher than that of the float or antireflective glass due to its safety properties and durability. It is most recommended for use in places with high traffic, for artworks which will be moved often to different places, artwork produced at very large dimensions or for use in children’s rooms.

This material is quite sensitive to scratches; it must be cleaned with an antistatic cloth and a special cleaning solution.
